While Doudou’s peers were enjoying their winter vacation on February 1, she was busy practicing her roller-skating drills at the skating center, accompanied by her mother. Several other students were also present, preparing for the 5th National Special Olympics Games to be held in September 2010. To prepare for the Games, Ms. Wu Ronghua, her roller-skating coach, took care to select eight athletes from different classes, and two of each class. She hoped to give an opportunity to skaters from each age group, and to develop better communication and relations among them.
