From 5th to 6th August, the 2010 China National Special Olympics Bocce and Roller Skating Competition were held in Fuzhou. 97 SO athletes from 10 provinces of the country gathered in the Provincial Disabled Persons’ Sports Management Center in Fuzhou, Fujian province. The Competition provided good opportunities for athletes to warm up before the fifth Nation Special Olympics Games.
On Aug. 4th, one day before the Competition, Health Athletes Program was also held in the Provincial Disabled Persons’ Sports Management Center for the SO athletes. Over 40 doctors and 60 volunteers from Amway participated in the event.
The Competitions were sponsored by National Special Olympics Committee and hosted by the Provincial Handicapped Association, Provincial Sports Bureau and Special Olympics Committee. 10 provinces assigned their delegations to the games including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong, Shanxi, Guangxi and Fujian.

Bocce competition
The Special Olympics Healthy Athletes® program is designed to help Special Olympics athletes to improve their health and fitness and their ability to train and compete in Special Olympics through the provision of free health screenings and referrals where necessary. It includes 7 disciplines: Special Smiles®, Opening Eyes®, Healthy Hearing, FUNfitness, Health Promotion, Fit Feet and MedFest.
