Taipei Held 2009 Special Olympics International Golf Tournament  
2009 Special Olympics International Golf Tournament was held at Pei Tou Kuo Hua Golf and Country Club, Taipei, Taiwan from October 12 to October 16, 2009. 10 teams of 49 leading Special Olympics athletes from all over the world met in Taipei and competed together.

SOEA Regional Healthy Athletes Program Conference Held in Wenzhou 
On Dec. 12, 2009, the first Special Olympics East Asia Regional Healthy Athletes Program Conference was convened with gathering of 20 Clinical Directors and Healthy Athletes coordinators from all five East Asia Programs at Wenzhou Medical College, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China.

SOEA Regional Messenger & Athlete Input Council Workshop Held in Fuzhou 
Special Olympics East Asia Regional Messenger and Athlete Input Council Workshop was held in Fuzhou on Dec. 9-11, 2009. 8 newly selected Regional Messengers and their mentors, the Current Global Messengers Ms. Cong Chen and Mr. Wai Yip Tam (Sam Tam), and some other athletes leaders participated in the training.

SO East Asia Successfully Hosted Contest for Beijing's University Students to Promote "Be a fan" Campaign
In the evening of Oct. 28, 2009, the Auditorium of School of Sciences, Tsinghua University, was packed with young faces, as the Award Ceremony for "Be a Fan of Special Olympics"—"UBS-Special Olympics University Campus Contest" was held.

Shanghai Sunshine Inter-City Invitational Unified Race Completed Successfully
The 2009 Shanghai Sunshine Inter-City Invitational Unified Race was completed successfully at the Shanghai Olympic Training Center in Songjiang District, Shanghai on November 10. Over 200 SO athletes from mainland China, Macau, Chinese Taipei as well as from the US and Korea gathered together to enjoy the fun of sports.
