Special Olympics East Asia Held Its 2008
Regional Advisory Council Meeting in
Korea |
|

Special
Olympics East Asia held its 2008 Regional Advisory Council (RAC)
meeting in Seoul, Korea on March 14-17,
2008. The meeting, attended by leaders from the five Programs of
SOEA, i.e., SO China, SO Chinese Taipei, SO Hong Kong, SO Macau, and
SO Korea, is the most important annual meeting for the
region.
During the
conference, each SOEA Program reported on the best practices and
challenges faced by the office in the past year, as well as their
plan for the year of 2008. More importantly, since the 2007 Shanghai
Special Olympics World Summer Games has left behind a great legacy
for China and other national Programs, the leaders of the SOEA
region discussed on the development strategies for the new year, so
as to better take advantage of the legacy of the Games and to be in
line with the strategic goals set by SOI, i.e., fundraising,
communications, quality of sport training and competitions, and the
football initiative.
