BEIJING, July 17 -- More than 70 athletes from Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Xi'an participated in the Special Olympics China National Bocce Ball Competition today sponsored by the Boeing Company. The half-day event , held at Union University in Beijing, was organized by Special Olympics Beijing, with support from Special Olympics East Asia (SOEA) and Special Olympics China (SOC). Many staff members from Boeing also joined in by serving as volunteers during the competition. 
BEIJING, August 16 -- On the afternoon of August 14th, the campaign to collect 10,000 people’s signatures on a 100-meter long scroll was launched in Beijing for welcoming the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games. 
CHINA, July 20 -- Special Olympics China, Special Olympics Beijing, and Special Olympics East Asia partnered up today to hold China's first ever "Special Olympics Day" events in 10 cities and towns throughout the country in conjunction with Special Olympics 39th anniversary. 
BEIJING and SHANGHAI, June 1 -- Special Olympics East Asia partnered up with the Shanghai American Chamber of Commerce, Amway Company Ltd. (China), Bayer Ltd. (China), and Coca Cola Beverages Ltd. (China) today to organize a series of large-scale volunteer service activities during the International Children's Day Unified Sports Celebration held simultaneously in Beijing and Shanghai. 
WASHINGTON, DC, July 26 -- The Flame of Hope™ for the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games arrived in Washington, D.C., where it was officially greeted by President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush in a White House ceremony. The flame was then carried through the streets of the nation's capital by a team of Special Olympics athletes and law enforcement personnel to begin the U.S. segment of the global Law Enforcement Torch Run® event. The event took place on the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act which was signed into law by President George H.W. Bush in 1990. 
BEIJING, July 6 -- The Canadian Embassy of Beijing held a ceremony today to handover newly donated softball equipment to the Pinggu District Special Education Center. Canadian Ambassador Mr. Robert Wright and his wife were on the scene to address the ceremony, held at the Pinggu Special Education Center.
