Marriott International's Beijing and Tianjin properties and Tianjin Warner International Golf Club co-hosted a charity golf tournament on October 23, which raised funds for Special Olympics China's Adopt-a-School program. The tournament had 100 participants who played a round of golf and attended an awards dinner at Marriott International's Renaissance Tianjin TEDA Hotel & Convention Center. The funds raised (over US$5000) will go towards the Adopt-a-School program, with the Beijing Haidian Special School being adopted. This is the 10 th out of 19 special schools in Beijing to be adopted. Special Olympics athlete Yang Yan (Judy) lent her expertise as a Special Olympics representative and made a short speech thanking the golfers, Marriott and the golf club for their generous support before accepting the donation.
