Diego Azubel, who raised funds for Special Olympics East Asia during by walking the entire length of the Great Wall of China during 2000-2001, began his new fundraising expedition for Special Olympics. He was inspired to get involved with Special Olympics in China, partly because of his cousin in Argentina who is intellectually disabled. Diego departed on his trip this month and will follow the footsteps of Nain Singh who walked from Kathmandu to Lhasa in 1865, then from Lhasa to India via the Himalayas. This approximately 3,000km walk will raise funds to benefit Special Olympics East Asia programs. Diego is a professional photographer and has donated one of his photographic works as an auction item for our upcoming Winter Gala fundraiser.
