McDonald's hosts a Special Olympics afternoon with Serena Williams in Beijing

Beijing, September 22, 2005 – Tennis superstar and idol Serena Williams spent an exciting and fun afternoon with several Special Olympics athletes at a McDonald's restaurant in Beijing. Serena was in Beijing competing in the China Open and took some time out to show her support for the Special Olympics cause in China.

Serena and her mother, Oracene "Brandy" Price, sat and ate Happy Meals with the Special Olympics athletes. Serena also extended her visit to make sure that everyone who wanted an autograph got one. She enthusiastically signed notebooks, t-shirts, photos, baseball caps and more for Special Olympics athletes, coaches and families.

Special Olympics would like to thank Serena Williams for her warm heart and generosity in giving our athletes this great opportunity. We would also like to extend a special thank you to McDonald's for hosting and organizing this event.
