Macau, October 8, 2005 – In anticipation of the upcoming SOEA Sports Games in late October, Special Olympics Macau held a Unified Sports Special Olympics Day at the Ja Ba Po Sha Sino-Portuguese Elementary School on October 8 th from 2:30pm to 5pm.
The participants of the day's events included middle school students and people with intellectual disabilities. All the activities were designed to reinforce ideas of unity, acceptance and interaction to strengthen communications and bonds between youth and people with intellectual disabilities; and also to promote development in community.
160 Special Olympics Macau athletes and students in non-special education schools attended this event and were divided into 4 groups of 40. All participants competed actively and displayed the spirit of Unified Sports. This event was sponsored by the Social Labor Bureau.
