Kick-off Ceremony of Football Week in Zhengzhou

On June 2, the football week was unveiled at Guancheng District Special School in Zhengzhou. The kick-off ceremony officially started at 9:30 a.m.

In the course of activity, the representatives of young pioneers presented the red scarves for the leaders and honored guests, and Chen Shuqiang, the official of Zhengzhou Municipal Disabled Persons Federation and Zhang Zhe, the vice director of Guancheng District Education, Culture and Sports Bureau made speeches. Xiong Jianjun, the director of Organization and Liaison Department of Henan Provincial Disabled Persons Federation declared the official start of Zhengzhou football week.

Nie Lei, the football star from Henan Jianye Football Club gave away the autographs-borne footballs to the students. The young partners from Guancheng District Erligang Primary School also attended the activity. They not just took part in the football game, but brought along the holiday gifts like the badminton rackets, table tennis bats and skipping ropes to their peers in the school. As the holiday is celebrated during the activity, the students from Guancheng District Special Education School didn’t forget their fellows in the earthquake-hit areas. They took this opportunity to make another donation by giving the learning tools and stationeries to those peers as disaster victims so as to express their love. They hoped that the young children in earthquake-hit areas could shake off the earthquake shadows, rebuild their homelands and enjoy a happy and well-to-do life. Finally, the students from the school literature and art team presented the aerobics called Brilliant Passion.

The kick-off ceremony unveiled the football week in Zhengzhou. A series of football-related activities will be held in the following week, and are expected to play a positive role in further promoting the sustainable development of Special Olympics and more effectively publicizing and popularizing the football events in Special Olympics.
