On May 30, 2006 Xuanwu Special Education School in Beijing was thrilled to accept a 50,000RMB donation from Shangri-La's Kerry Centre Hotel during their Special Olympics Activity Day.

These funds were raised by a charity dinner held at the Kerry Centre in March 2006, with famous rugby coaches Glen Ella and Eddie Jones (http://www.specialolympicseastasia.org/English/News/articles/BHPDinner.htm).

The Kerry Centre subsequently decided to donate these funds to Xuanwu School as part of the Special Olympics Adopt-a-School Program. Andrew West, the Manager of The Kerry Sports Centre, and Janet Zhang, the Communication Manager for the Kerry Centre Hotel, were on hand to represent the Kerry Centre.

After the donation ceremony, the 235 students at Xuanwu Special School participated in various sports competitions including 30 m and 50m dashes and a basketball dribbling run.
