The 2007 Special Olympics Shanghai Bid Committee won a Meritorious Recognition Award from the Foundation for Women Executives in Public Relations (WEPR) in its annual Social Responsibility Competition. Burson Marsteller, an international public relations firm that has generously supported the work of Special Olympics in China, and the 2007 Special Olympics Shanghai Bid Committee in particular, will accept the award in a ceremony slated to take place in New York in October. This is a great honor as it is only one of ten awards given by the organization each year. WEPR is a prestigious U.S.-based organization that has developed an awards program that honors cause-related communications programs that have made an indelible mark in the field of public relations.
