Amway China Donates 6 Million RMB to the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games

Beijing, September 19, 2005 – Amway China announced their generous pledge of 6 million RMB in support of the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games, which are to take place in Shanghai.

In addition to the monetary donation, Amway will also utilize their existing Nutrilite Health Run Program to further promote the Games. Amway plans to hold 50 more Nutrilite Health Runs in more than 20 cities in China from now until the 2007 Games and will include the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in their publicity for all future Health Runs. Special Olympics will be introduced to the more than 1 million expected Health Run participants.

Mr Audie Wong, President of Amway China, made the formal presentation to Dr Shi Derong, CEO of the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games Executive Committee (GEC). Also present at the press conference were Xu Chuang, Special Olympics Shanghai athlete and Special Olympics Global Messenger, and Qiao Meili, Special Olympics Shanghai athlete and Special Olympics Athlete Leader. The two athletes expressed their thanks to Amway and to their excitement for the 2007 Games to be hosted in their hometown.
