Fujian sub-area competition of Special Olympics bocce game of Boeing Cup was held at Xiamen on May 27, 2008, attended by nearly 100 people, including government officers of Fujian Province and Xiamen City, Special Olympics coaches and athletes at Fujian, specially invited Chinese Taipei Team, representatives of the sponsor, representatives of Special Olympics China, and staff of Special Olympics East Asia.
This 1-day long game, participated by 11 teams from local areas of Fujian, was supported by the Boeing Company. Appearance of Chinese Taipei Team inspired the spirit and ambition of the others. After a gruelling but orderly competition 3 teams- Quanzhou, Tongan and Longyan, shared the champion award. Every team and athlete was awarded by the representatives of the sponsor and the leaders of Special Olympics East Asia. Smiles were on every face of Special Olympics athletes when they stood on the prize-awarding stage. A joint ceremony was held at evening to celebrate the complete success of the activity, attended by representatives of the sponsor and their family, athletes, coaches, leaders from local Disabled Persons’ Federation, and staff of Special Olympics East Asia.

Other sub-area competitions of Special Olympics bocce game of 2008 Boeing Cup will be held at Shenyang, Xian and Tianjin in succession. A national competition will take place in September this year.
